Arcadia on 49th apartments are slightly less than seven miles north of downtown Tempe and ASU. Due to the apartment building’s ideal location, you’ll usually avoid the rush hour traffic congestion most other commuters encounter on their way to ASU. As a result, your commute time of 12 to 14 minutes never really changes, even if you leave your apartment at peak morning traffic times. There are several good driving routes to the university, including one that takes you south on North 52nd Street and east on the AZ 202 Loop. You’ll exit at Scottsdale Road/Rural Road and head south. The university will be to your right a block-and-a-half beyond the river.
You might also consider riding Valley Metro buses to ASU. While the bus commute takes longer than driving, riding the bus is much less expensive than paying for parking on campus. The quickest route with the fewest transfers starts at Bus Stop #11919 at Thomas and 48th Street; that’s a three-minute walk from your apartment. You’ll board a bus on Route 29 and hop off 12 minutes later at Thomas and Scottsdale. Walk to the nearby bus stop and catch a bus on Route 72. Route 72 buses make a loop around the northern section of campus. Your options include disembarking at the corner of University and Rural, at the Palo Verde dorms, at the Sun Devil Stadium or at the University Rural Transit Center. The entire trip takes 53 minutes.
At Arcadia on 49th, you have access to many grocery stores, restaurants, shops and services. A Shell gas station is one block to the east. Fry’s Food and Drug, Target, Ross Dress for Less, Schlotszky’s Deli, Chipotle and Starbucks are seven to 10 blocks to the west, and Costco Wholesale is 15 blocks to the southwest. Fitness is convenient, too, with CrossFit Full Strength, Curves, Second Heart Yoga and Greenbelt City Park within a seven-block stretch west of the apartments.
