FoxFire Apartment Homes
Located approximately seven miles west of the Price Freeway, five miles north of the Superstition Freeway and five miles south of the Red Mountain Freeway, the FoxFire Apartment Homes are just as convenient for commuters as they are students and teachers. You’ll find these apartments on East 8th Street less than one mile from the eastern edge of the Arizona State University Tempe campus, so it’s a good location if you plan on walking or biking your way to school.
For the most direct route from the apartment complex to the university, head north on South McClintock Drive to East University Drive, and then go west on University until you reach campus. This road cuts directly through campus and will give you access to the academic buildings on south campus as well as the Wells Fargo Arena and football fields located on north campus.
You can also take McClintock Drive north until you pass over Tempe Town Lake. This allows you to enjoy a wider variety of restaurants and shopping centers. You will also find Rio Salado Park just north of the lake.
While you can easily walk to many restaurants and parks surrounding the FoxFire Apartments, it’s best to use a car or the Valley Metro busing system to reach campus. This is less than a five-minute trip by car without traffic, but it can take up to 20 minutes on the bus.
The closest bus stop is at the corner of 8th Street and Una Avenue, and you want to take the Mercury East bus headed towards Escalante Center. Get off at any stop on University Drive. You can reach all areas of campus from University, including the football and baseball stadiums and the northern practice fields used by the band and student athletes.
One of the perks to living close to ASU is the abundance of restaurants serving authentic cuisine, including Greek and Asian. You will also find some unusual businesses in the area, like the car wash that features a drive-through lane for coffee. For outdoor recreation, you can explore Hudson Park, Creamery Park and Alegre Park.
