Pointe at South Mountain Apartment Homes
For nature lovers traveling to the Arizona State University regularly, the Pointe at South Mountain Apartment Homes are in a prime location. Less than two miles from the northeastern edge of South Mountain Park and just over six miles south of the ASU Tempe campus, the apartment complex allows residents to enjoy the great outdoors without venturing far from work or school. You can also reach downtown Phoenix in approximately 20 minutes if traffic is light.
The fastest route to campus is via US-60 East. Get off at the Rural Road exit and continue north until you enter the southern edge of ASU. You can turn on Apache Boulevard to reach the Gammage and other buildings on the southern border of campus or venture further north to access the academic buildings and sports complexes. An alternate highway route is the AZ-202 Loop to the Scottsdale Road exit, which will take you into the northern region of campus where the Wells Fargo Arena and sports complexes are located.
To stay off of the highway, travel north on 48th Street to University Drive. Turn right on University and go straight into the western edge of campus.
It takes at least two hours to walk to ASU from the Pointe at South Mountain Apartments, and the bike ride will take at least 30 minutes. If you don’t have a car, you can take the Valley Metro bus or light rail to reach ASU as well as all restaurants, parks and entertainment venues throughout Tempe.
The fastest way to reach campus is to walk just over a mile to the bus stop near Guadalupe Road and Hardy Drive, boarding a route 62 bus heading north to Tempe Marketplace. Get off at the Veterans Way and College Avenue stop, which places you on the western edge of the ASU campus. There are bus stops closer to the apartment complex that will take you to different points of interest in Tempe and Phoenix.
The Pointe at South Mountain is located less than two miles east of the exercise trails in South Mountain Park, and smaller parks like Biehn Colony Park are nearby as well. The complex sits just off I-10 and is close to US-60 and the AZ-101 Loop, and the Sky Harbor Airport is less than seven miles to the north. If you want to stay close to home, there are many restaurants within a mile of the apartments, serving everything from steaks to Mexican and Thai cuisine.
