Transportation
Ponderosa Ranch on South Darrow Drive is in the heart of central Tempe and close to Interstate 10 and the Superstition Freeway. Just four miles southwest of ASU, driving to campus from the apartment complex takes about 10 minutes. If you want to avoid parking costs but need to have your own ride handy, cycling to ASU is a good choice for you. Riding your bike to campus is a 21-minute commute. The most direct cycling route puts you north on South Priest, turning right on 13th Street. South Priest offers dedicated bike lanes throughout the entire route. You can also cycle up South Priest and cut over Manhatton Drive to either South Hardy or South Roosevelt to make your way north to the university at 13th Street/Apache Boulevard.
For public transportation to the southern part of campus, the best route is via Bus Route 77. The nearest bus stop for Route 77 is just a few blocks southeast of the apartments at Darrow Drive and Baseline Road. You’ll ride Bus 77 for about four minutes and disembark at Baseline and Kyrene, where you’ll catch the Route 65 bus north. The bus stops at 13th and Mill, near Gammage Memorial Auditorium. If you need to get to the northern section of campus, Route 48 is fastest. Walk northeast to Baseline and Priest’s bus stop #13261; Bus 48 drives 26 minutes to Tempe Transportation Center, near ASU’s Plummer Aquatics Center and Sun Devil Stadium.

It’s tough to beat the convenience of Ponderosa Ranch apartments. The Home Depot is directly behind the apartments, and Arizona Mills Shopping Center is just across the street. There, you’ll find Starbuck’s, Bebe, H&M, Foot Locker and Rainforest Cafe as well as Harkins 25/IMAX Theaters. In addition to the bountiful Arizona Mills/Harkins Theater options, you’ll also find other nearby conveniences, including a CVS that is three blocks from the apartment. McDonald’s, AutoZone and Waffle House are just across Baseline for additional convenience.
