San Portella Apartments
Located less than three miles from the southwest corner of the Arizona State University campus and less than half a mile from Phoenix University, the San Portella Apartments give you the opportunity to enjoy comfort at home and a short commute to work or school. To enjoy live theatrical performances at the ASU Gammage, travel east on West Broadway Road, turn north on South Mill Avenue, and then exit to the right on East Apache Boulevard. This is less than a 10-minute drive without traffic, and you can follow Apache Boulevard past the Gammage to reach the intramural fields and the Sun Devil Fitness Complex.
Continuing on South Mill Avenue four blocks north of the Gammage will lead to East University Drive, which goes into the heart of campus. This will give you access to most administrative and academic buildings.
It’s best to drive or use a rideshare service to reach the ASU Tempe campus. While there is no light rail access near the apartments, you can walk less than half a mile to a bus stop at the corner of Priest Drive and Fountainhead Parkway. Priest Drive is Valley Metro route 56 and includes stops at the Phoenix Zoo and the Desert Botanical Garden.
You also have the option of walking the three miles to South Mill Avenue and then taking a flash shuttle to most ASU destinations. The campus is also bicycle-friendly.
There are a variety of dining options located within a mile of the San Portella Apartments, including many small cafes, fine dining establishments and popular chains like Jersey Mike’s and Starbucks. If you enjoy the nightlife, there are a couple sports bars and a hookah club close by as well. If you have a family or pets, these apartments will place you within a five-minute drive of Clark Park and University Animal Hospital, and Holdeman Elementary School is just 10 minutes to the north.
