Solara at Mill Avenue Apartments
Follow Mill Avenue south from the southwestern corner of the Arizona State University Tempe campus, and you’ll run into the Solara at Mill Avenue Apartments in just under two miles. This location is approximately 12 miles southeast of downtown Phoenix and a short drive away from many cities surrounding Tempe, including Scottsdale, Gilbert, Chandler and Mesa. The apartment complex offers easy access to I-10, AZ-101 and AZ-202, and you can reach the Sky Harbor International Airport in under 15 minutes in light traffic.
The commute to the ASU campus doesn’t get much easier than it is from the Solara Apartments on Mill Avenue. You simply head north on Mill until you find the right crossroad to lead you deeper into campus. You can bike from the apartment complex to the southwestern corner of campus in about 10 minutes, and the walk takes approximately 40 minutes. You should plan to spend a little more time walking or biking across campus to reach your final destination.
If you prefer to take public transportation, walk a few minutes to the corner of Mill and Pebble Beach Drive to catch a northbound bus heading toward Tempe TC on Mill. Since this road runs along the western edge of the university, there are multiple stops that will leave you on the outskirts of campus. This trip can take up to 20 minutes, depending how far north on Mill you travel.
There are bus routes covering most of the main roads surrounding the Solara at Mill Avenue apartment complex, so it’s possible reach most points of interest in Tempe, Phoenix and surrounding cities without owning a car. You can also take the light rail from the transit center on campus to explore destinations northwest and southeast of the university.
The Solara Apartments on Mill Avenue place you within walking distance of many shopping centers, restaurants, fitness clubs and small parks like Palmer Park. For outdoor recreation, Kiwanis Lake and Kiwanis Park are approximately one mile to the south. You can always enjoy a walk on the canal trails just north of Kiwanis Lake or venture north of campus to the trails on the southern shore of Tempe Town Lake.
