Adjacent to the popular north-south Alma School Road thoroughfare, The Greens Apartments’ location makes getting around the region relatively simple. Price Freeway/Loop 101 is also close by, providing a convenient route to travel the 14.5 miles to downtown Tempe and the ASU campus. If you plan to commute to the university from the apartments, the drive takes 20 minutes in light traffic and up to 45 minutes in heavy traffic.
If you want to avoid traffic-laden commutes, the region’s Valley Metro public transit system is an excellent solution. Most of the bus and light rail routes can get you to campus in about an hour. If you prefer riding the bus, you can catch the bus by walking a mile to the westbound Route 156 stop at Chandler and Alma School Road. You’ll ride the 156 bus 15 minutes, transferring to a Route 72 bus at Rural Road and Chandler Boulevard. The Route 72 bus ride to campus takes 31 minutes, stopping at five university-area locations, from the southeast corner of campus to the northwest corner.
If you enjoy traveling by light rail, you’ll need to first take Bus Route 104. Begin by walking a block to the northbound bus stop at Alma School and Frye roads. The bus ride to the light rail station at Alma School and College Avenue is 36 minutes. Once you board a train, the commute to campus takes 16 minutes, stopping first near the Biodesign Institute buildings on the east side of campus and then at Veteran’s Way and College near Sun Devil Stadium.
