Valencia Crossing apartments are between the Superstition Freeway and Loop 202 and just a few blocks south of the major regional east-west road, University Drive. This proximity to key highways and thoroughfares makes transportation to and from the apartments extremely convenient. Driving to the ASU campus nine miles away in Tempe, for instance, takes just 19 minutes. The campus is almost a straight drive from the apartments since University Drive runs through the center of campus.
This straight route to campus makes cycling to the university a nice option. Be aware, though, that the ride will take you 45 to 50 minutes each way.
If you don’t want to incur the parking expenses associated with driving to campus and cycling an hour-and-a-half each day doesn’t appeal, public transportation is your best alternative. Most routes can travel the distance between the apartments and ASU in 35 to 45 minutes. One of the most comfortable commuting routes begins with a very short walk from the apartments to Main Street LINK stop at Main Street and Gilbert. You’ll ride the LINK bus five minutes to the light rail station at Main Street and Mesa Drive, where you’ll board a westbound train to the campus. The train ride lasts 22 to 25 minutes, stopping on the east side of campus and on the northwest side.
At Valencia Crossing apartments, you’re within one block of numerous auto repair, sales and parts stores. There’s also McDonald’s and 7-11 across the street for quick snacks and meals. A few blocks north, you’ll find a variety of stores and restaurants such as Petco, Riviera Plaza Shopping Center, Wells Fargo Bank, Panda Express and Garcia’s Mexican. For groceries, you have the option of Food City five blocks west and Smart & Final six blocks to the west.
