Less than a mile from ASU’s Brickyard Engineering and Artisan Court, Amber Garden Apartment Homes put you in the heart of downtown and ASU. Whether you prefer driving, walking, biking or bus-riding, you’ll have a quick commute to campus. If you’re heading to the north section of campus, it’s a quick five-minute commute by car; if you’re heading to southern areas of ASU, it’s just seven to eight minutes. Walk to north campus in 17 to 20 minutes, and if you need to get to more distant parts of campus, hop on a complimentary ASU FLASH shuttle.
Your location at Amber Garden Apartment Homes is ideal for biking to campus too. Bike south on South Roosevelt and east on West 5th to get to spots like Sun Devil Stadium and Tempe Transit Center in less than 10 minutes. Some areas of campus require you to walk your bike. As a result, it may be faster to catch a FLASH shuttle to get to southern points of ASU once you’re in the Transit Center area.
Public transit is just as convenient as biking and driving. The average bus trip to north ASU takes three to seven minutes. Your options include taking the free Orbit Venus neighborhood shuttle or Bus Route 48. The Venus shuttle picks you up at 5th Street and Forest Avenue and drops you off at Tempe Transit Center. You can also walk three-and-a-half blocks to Ash Avenue and Rio Salado Parkway to take Route 48 buses to Tempe Transit Center. Both options involve a three-minute bus ride.
There’s no need to travel far for necessities and meals when you live on West 1st Street. Press Coffee Roasters is just across 1st Street, and the Culinary Dropout and The Lodge Sasquatch Kitchen are just two-and-a-half blocks east of your apartment. Walk another two blocks over to Mill Avenue, and there are dozens of downtown shops and eateries. Rollins Family Market is less than a mile southwest of the apartments, and Tempe Farmers Market is nine blocks southeast.
