Gentry’s Walk welcomes you home to Mesa, Arizona. The community is located on South Val Vista Drive, which is about 12 miles east of the Arizona State University Tempe campus. If you take US-60 westbound to AZ-101 and then exit at University Drive, you can reach the eastern edge of campus in approximately 15 minutes in light traffic.
Once you reach University Drive, you can go west until you reach your destination in any area of campus. This road also extends west of campus, so you can explore a variety of restaurants, shopping centers and parks located a bit further from home.
If you want to enter campus from the southern border, take US-60 to the Rural Road exit, and then go north until you enter campus. This road will take you to the ASU Gammage and fitness complex in south campus and then extend north through the academic buildings into the sports and entertainment venues in north campus. Rural turns into Scottsdale Road after you cross Rio Salado Parkway, and you can take that road over Tempe Town Lake to visit the Phoenix Zoo and a variety of parks and golf courses.
In light traffic, you can reach all areas of the ASU Tempe campus within 30 minutes from the Gentry’s Walk community. If you don’t have a personal car and don’t want to rely upon ride-share services, you can take the Valley Metro public bus to the university. You may also take a bus to the light rail train station. Depending on your chosen bus route, expect the trip to take up to 90 minutes.
The closest bus route to the apartment complex is near the intersection of Val Vista Drive and Southern Avenue. Bus route 61 serves Southern, so you can catch a bus on that road to go anywhere east or west of campus. You may also want to put a bike on the exterior bus racks so that you can bike your way around the ASU campus.
If you enjoy spending time outdoors, you will find Countryside Park, Harmony Park and Holmes Park within a mile of Gentry’s Walk. There are also a variety of restaurants surrounding the community, so you can enjoy a stuffed pita or pizza one day and an authentic Hawaiian meal the next.
