If you want to live close to the Arizona State University Tempe campus, you should know about Hayden Lane. This is a street approximately one mile from the eastern edge of campus that features a variety of affordable apartment buildings, including the Hayden Terrace Apartments. You can reach the eastern edge of campus in less than five minutes from these apartments, and you can reach the Wells Fargo Arena and other north campus attractions in under 15 minutes without traffic.
Traveling to campus is simple when you live on Hayden Lane. You head down the street and turn on East University Drive, and then you keep going straight until you enter the university grounds. University cuts through the center of campus, so it is your fast line to any of the academic or administrative buildings, the aquatics and fitness complexes, and the sports arenas.
Transportation
When you live a mile from campus, you maximize your transportation options. You can walk to the eastern edge of ASU in approximately 20 minutes, and the trip is five minutes or less by car or bike. If you prefer to take the bus, you can catch a Valley Metro route 30 bus going west on University Drive, and it will take you to the northwestern corner of campus in less than 30 minutes. You can also take a bus on University to reach many parks, restaurants and bars located west of campus.
If you walk approximately 10 minutes to the corner of Smith-Martin and Apache Boulevard, you can take the light rail west toward 19th Avenue to reach campus. The train ride takes about 10 minutes, so this is often faster than relying on the public buses. You can ride the train further northwest or to the southeast to explore Tempe beyond the university.

Hayden Lane is a convenient location for anyone visiting ASU regularly, but it’s also an ideal setting for those traveling or commuting on a regular basis. It is less than five miles from the AZ-101 and AZ-202 loops, and the Superstition and Maricopa freeways are less than a half hour drive away.
This apartment complex is also within three miles of many public schools, including Thew Elementary, Roosevelt Elementary and Connolly Middle. For outdoor recreation, Connelly Field, Selleh Park and Allegre Park are nearby. This area is also home to many restaurants and shopping centers, and many are accessible by bus.
