Lore South Mountain Apartments
You can reach the western edge of the Arizona State University Tempe campus in approximately 15 minutes from the Lore South Mountain Apartments. The apartment community is located about nine miles south of campus, but it’s also a short drive from the AZ-101 loop and US-60. This is convenient if you commute to Phoenix or other areas for work or you enjoy taking road trips.
The fastest route to the university is along I-10 West. You can get off at the Rural Road exit and enter the campus from the south. This will place you close to the intramural fields, on-campus housing complex and ASU Gammage. Rural also travels straight through campus, turns into Scottsdale and crosses Tempe Town Lake. You will find a marina, the Phoenix Zoo and beautiful areas for biking, hiking and picnicking in this northern region of Tempe.
You can also take US-60 to the University Drive exit if you want to enter campus from the west. University cuts straight through campus, and this entrance is more convenient if you’re headed to the Wells Fargo Arena, Sun Devils Stadium or Packard Stadium.
Transportation
If you don’t have access to private transportation, you can use the Valley Metro public buses to reach all areas of campus as well as restaurants, parks and stores surrounding the apartment complex. The bus ride can take up to an hour, but there is a direct route that doesn’t require transferring to a second bus.
You have to walk just over a mile to the intersection of Warner Road and Harl Avenue to board a route 65 bus headed north on Kyrene Road. The bus will take you up Mill Avenue, which runs along the western border of campus. There are multiple stops on Mill that will lead to the southern region of campus, but departing at the Mill and University stop allows you to reach the northern campus as well.
