Transportation
Since it can take up to an hour to reach ASU by public bus or light rail, private transportation is an advantage when living in Mesa and commuting to the university. If you want to use public transportation, the fastest route is the light rail station near Country Club Drive and Main Street.
It takes about a half hour to walk to this station from the Mesa Park Apartments, but you can reduce your foot travel by walking to the corner of 6th and Broadway to catch the Arizona Avenue Link bus heading to Main Street and Centennial Way. Get off at the Country Club Drive and Main Street exit, and then walk to the light rail station. A westbound train headed to 19th Avenue and Dunlap will take you to the Corner of Veterans Way and College Avenue, and you can walk to most areas of campus from that location.
The closest bus stop is near the corner of Southern Avenue and Extension Road, so you still have to walk almost a mile to get to the stop. Take a route 61 bus headed west on Southern towards 43rd Avenue, and get off at the Mill Avenue stop. Take a route 65 bus headed toward Tempe TC on Mill Avenue to reach campus.
Mill runs along the western border of campus, and there are multiple stops that will place you close to the academic buildings of south campus. Riding to the northwestern corner of campus will take you closer to the Wells Fargo Arena, Sun Devil Stadium, aquatic complex and practice fields.
