Transportation
Onnix-west apartments are ideally located just one-and-a-half miles east of the ASU campus on East Broadway Road. A quick half-hour walk puts you on the southeastern edge of campus, near university administrative offices and the Sonora Center residential college. Just another few minutes of walking takes you to campus spots like the Sun Devil Fitness Complex. There, you’ll also find FLASH shuttle stops offering free rides to more distant areas of campus.
The apartments also put you in a perfect location for biking to ASU. East Vista del Cerro is the quickest cycling route, and you can reach it by heading west on Broadway, then turning north on South Dorsey. Once you’re on Vista del Cerro, you’ll turn north onto South Rural Road, then west on Apache. The total ride takes about nine minutes. Be aware that this section of Rural Road does not yet have designated bike lanes.
Getting to campus via the Valley Metro bus system is also easy. The neighborhood circulator shuttle, Orbit Mars, is free and picks up passengers at Dorsey and Broadway, Stop #14687; that’s an eight-minute walk from Onnix. If you’re not on a major thoroughfare, you can flag the shuttle driver anywhere along the route, and the driver will pick you up. The Mars shuttle ride takes four minutes to the edge of campus, 11 minutes to the University/Rural Road light rail station and 15 minutes to the northwest area of campus.
