Rancho Ladera Apartments
Positioned approximately six miles south of the Arizona State University Tempe campus and approximately 13 miles south of downtown Phoenix, the Rancho Ladera Apartments are just as convenient for commuters heading into Phoenix as they are students heading to ASU. This area offers easy access to I-10, US-60, AZ-101 and AZ-202, so it’s easy to venture away from home when you’re ready to explore the Phoenix area.
If you take US-60 East to the South Rural Road exit, you can reach the southern edge of the ASU campus in under 15 minutes without traffic. There are many parking areas in the southern half of campus, but you can also take Rural straight through campus until it turns into Scottsdale Road. Scottsdale will take you over Tempe Town Lake to reach the Phoenix Zoo and a variety of mountain recreation areas like Hole in the Rock.
If you don’t want to use US-60, you can take South Kyrene Avenue to South Mill Avenue and drive north along the western edge of campus. Turning right on University Drive from Mill will take you through campus, allowing you to reach the Wells Fargo Arena and sports complexes as well as the academic buildings. Going north on South Hardy Drive from the apartments will also take you to the western edge of campus.
It takes up to two hours to walk to ASU from this location, and the bike ride will take about a half hour. Other transportation options include the Valley Metro busing and light rail systems, and it will take about one hour to reach the campus by bus. Busing to the light rail station to reach campus will take a little longer than an hour.
The closest bus stop that will take you north to ASU is located about one mile away near the intersection of Avenida Del Yaqui and Calle Guadalupe. You want to take a route 56 bus that will go northbound on Priest, going toward McDowell if you want to transfer to a second bus to reach campus or toward Washington if you want to transfer to the light rail. If you can walk or find a ride almost two miles away to Baseline Road, you can take a route 48 bus to reach campus without a transfer.
The Rancho Ladera Apartments are located less than two miles from the eastern edge of South Mountain Park and less than one mile west of the Maricopa Freeway. There are a few popular Mexican restaurants within a mile of the apartment complex as well as restaurants serving Japanese and Italian cuisine.
