Transportation
Conveniently located in the center of Tempe, Ravenwood Heights on West Baseline Road offers easy access to most parts of town. It’s about a three-and-a-half mile drive to the ASU campus and just a bit farther to downtown. The drive to campus can be made in 10 to 12 minutes with light traffic. The most direct route is to drive east on West Baseline and north on South Mill Avenue, although most major north/south roadways will also do the job.
Covering the three-and-a-half miles to campus via bicycle is a popular option in Tempe. The most direct route to campus is on South Mill Avenue, but be advised that there are sections of South Mill that do not have bike lanes. A safer option might be accessing South College Avenue by traveling east on Baseline, north on South Mill and east on Ellis Drive to South College. The trip to the south edge of campus should take about 20 minutes.
Valley Metro’s Bus Routes 65 and 66 are your best bets for north/south travel from your apartment. You can access the buses by walking two-and-a-half blocks east on Baseline Road to Bus Stop #14225 at Baseline and Kyrene roads. The trip to campus takes 20 minutes. Since the bus runs along the entire western edge of campus, you have several endpoint options. You can disembark near Gammage Memorial Auditorium at 13th and Mill, at 11th Street near Katzin Concert Hall, between 9th and 10th streets near ASU’s Tempe Center or between 5th and 6th at the Mill Avenue entertainment district. The bus also continues on to Tempe Transportation Center.
