Red Rox Apartments
On the property formerly known as the Red Rox Villas, you’ll find the Red Rox Apartments tucked into the southern border of Papago Park on East Van Buren Street in Phoenix. The complex is located approximately three miles from the Arizona State University campus in Tempe, six miles from downtown Phoenix and five miles from downtown Scottsdale. Offering easy access to the AZ-202 Loop, this central location is convenient for commuters heading into surrounding cities as well as students and faculty members of the university.
The most direct route to campus involves taking Van Buren Street to Mill Avenue. Go south on Mill until you cross over Tempe Town Lake, and then proceed along the western edge of campus. Turning left on University Drive will give you a direct path through campus, allowing you to branch off north to reach the Sun Devil Stadium and other sports complexes or south to reach the academic buildings, administrative offices and on-campus housing units. It takes approximately 10 minutes to reach the edge of campus in light traffic if you take this route, but you can also take the 202 Loop to Scottsdale Road to reach the northern edge of campus a few minutes faster.
Transportation
It takes about an hour to walk to the ASU campus from this location. You can also bike to campus in under 20 minutes or take the Valley Metro light rail for a commute time of approximately 30 minutes each way. There are buses operating on most main roads surrounding the apartment complex, and you can use those bus routes to reach many points of interest in Tempe, Phoenix and Scottsdale.
The closest light rail station is near the corner of Priest Drive and Washington Street, which is about one mile from the Red Rox Apartments. Take the train traveling toward Main Street and Mesa Drive, exiting at the Veterans Way and College Avenue station. This places you in the western section of campus, and you can walk or take the Flash Forward buses to reach your final destination.
