The Residences at Fountainhead on South Plaza Drive are near Interstate 10 and just 2.8 miles southwest of ASU. Commuting to ASU or downtown Tempe is a breeze when you follow South Priest Drive to the north. From South Priest, you’ll turn east on West Broadway and north on South Mill. You’re on campus within 11 minutes.
Commuting to campus on your bicycle gets you to campus within 15 minutes. There are several viable cycling routes, with the most direct path leading you north on South Priest and east on West 13th Street to the campus. You can vary your cycling route by first traveling east on West Alameda, then heading north on either South Hardy or South Roosevelt. You can still cut over to the campus on West 13th Street, or continue on to northern parts of campus by cutting over on University Drive or 5th Street.
Bus Route 56 is your ticket to getting to campus easily and cheaply. You can catch the bus by walking a few blocks southeast to Stop #13617 at Priest and Alameda drives. After a six-minute ride, you’ll hop off at University and Priest and transfer to a free Orbit Venus bus to the Tempe Transportation Center and the northwestern edge of campus. The entire trip runs 25 minutes. If you prefer light rail, stay on the Route 56 bus until you reach Washington Light Rail Station. Switch over to the light rail train to travel to Tempe Transportation Center; the full journey takes 32 minutes.
The Residences at Fountainhead development is near Tempe Diablo Stadium, and it’s just minutes from Phoenix Marriott Tempe at the Buttes’ Top of the Rock restaurant and Narande Spa. Lucy’s Fountainhead Cafe is just a block or two north, and Denny’s and Paul’s Ace Hardware are just a few blocks beyond that. Fry’s Food and Safeway are both about three miles to the east of the residences. Several convenience stores, fast-food restaurants, pharmacies and stores are scattered along your route to the grocery stores.
