Transportation
Living in San Palmilla apartments puts you near all the major local freeways but keeps you insulated from the hustle of a busy university campus. Just three-and-a-half miles south of ASU, the apartments are close enough to make the commute to campus a swift 10-minute drive. In rush-hour traffic, expect a commute that is closer to 18 minutes.
If you want to save money on parking, and you enjoy the physical and environmental benefits of bicycling, ride your bike to ASU. The ride to southern parts of campus such as Sun Devil Fitness Complex takes 19 to 21 minutes. You can either head east on Baseline and north on College Avenue to get to the central area of campus, or travel west on Baseline, north on Hardy Drive and east on 13th or University to get to the west side of ASU.
Valley Metro buses can transport you to campus in 12 to 36 minutes, depending on the route and your campus destination. If you’re going to locations on ASU’s west side, take Bus Routes 65 or 66. You’ll walk five minutes from your apartment to the bus stop at Baseline and Kyrene, and the bus delivers you to the southwestern edge of campus near Gammage Auditorium 11 or 12 minutes later. Stay on the bus for additional stops north. If you’re heading to the middle of campus such as around University Rural Transit Center near Tyler Street, use Bus Route 77. You can catch the bus at Baseline and Hardy, and you’ll transfer to Bus Route 72 at Rural and Baseline. The entire journey to Tyler Street takes about 38 minutes.
