About Sierra Foothills

Sierra Foothills Apartments

If you make the Sierra Foothills Apartments your next home, you can live in the foothills of the Ahwatukee Mountains within close proximity of South Mountain. You can also enjoy a commute time of approximately 20 minutes to the Arizona State University campus in Tempe while downtown Phoenix is approximately 30 minutes away without traffic. This location is also convenient to I-10 and US-60 for residents who travel frequently.

To reach the ASU campus from the southern end, take I-10 West to US-60 East, exiting at South Rural Road. Travel north on Rural until you reach your final destination on campus. This road will continue north through campus until it turns into Scottsdale and crosses Tempe Town Lake. This path allows you to visit the Phoenix Zoo, Tempe marina and many outdoor recreational areas in the northern mountains.

If you would rather enter campus from the west, take I-10 West to the University Drive exit. Driving east on University will take you directly into campus, allowing you to turn off on the side roads to reach all university buildings.

Since it takes approximately three hours to walk to the ASU campus from this location, you will likely need personal transportation to reach the university, downtown Phoenix and other local attractions. There are public buses operating on most main streets surrounding the apartment community, but it takes a little over an hour to reach ASU by bus or light rail.

To reach the university, start by walking almost a mile to the bus stop on the corner of Ray Road and 48th Street. Take a route 56 bus heading north on Priest Drive toward Scottsdale/McDowell via the District Botanical Garden. Get off at the 5th Street stop and walk about one minute to the corner of 5th and Priest. Board a VENUS Forward bus to reach the campus transit center or another campus stop close to your final destination.

Things Nearby

The Wild Horse Pass Hotel and Casino is located approximately four miles south of the Sierra Foothills Apartments, and the Foothills Golf Club is about four miles to the southwest. This area is known for beautiful scenery and many outdoor recreational areas around South Mountain, but there are also some popular restaurants within a couple miles of the apartment community.
