Suncrest Apartments are six-and-a-half miles east of ASU and close to a number of area freeways. Driving to the center of the campus takes 13 minutes without traffic and up to 25 minutes in morning commuter traffic.
If you prefer to power your own commute, biking to campus along University Drive takes about 35 minutes. Dedicated bike lanes are available along most of the route, although there are a few short stretches without dedicated lanes.
Using public transportation is the most cost- and time-efficient way to get to campus. The nearest light rail station at Mesa Drive and Main Street is just a four-minute walk from the apartments. A 22-minute train ride takes you to the first university-area stop near eastern ASU locations such as Skyspace and the Biodesign Institute buildings. The second ASU stop is at the Veteran’s Way/College Avenue station near northwestern campus sites, including Wells Fargo Arena and Sun Devil Stadium. During the peak morning commute hours, trains pick up at the Mesa Drive/Main Street station every 12 minutes.
Living at Suncrest Apartments puts you in the heart of Mesa’s cultural scene. You’re four blocks from the main library, five blocks from Mesa Convention Center and six blocks from Mesa Amphitheater. The apartments are also five blocks from Mesa Arts Center and seven blocks from Arizona Museum of Natural History. Recreation is nearby, too, with Pioneer Park just a block east of the apartments. There, you’ll find basketball courts, horseshoe pits, a volleyball court, picnic tables and the Saturday evening Mesa Feastival Forest festivities.
You’ll also find a variety of stores and services nearby. Wells Fargo Bank and Pete’s Fish and Chips are two blocks south of the apartment complex, and several bakeries and coffee houses are a few blocks farther west. There are three Circle K convenience stores/gas stations within a seven-block radius of the apartments. Grocery shopping is easy, too, with Smart and Final and Food City about a mile east.
