Transportation
Located in Mesa just 11 miles east of ASU and downtown Tempe, The Meadows apartments are a half-mile from the convenient Superstition Freeway. If you wish to commute by private car to ASU’s campus, the drive can be made in roughly 16 minutes. The quickest route is usually west on the Superstition Freeway and north on Price Freeway/Loop 101. You can also drive to campus along surface streets, traveling north on Gilbert Road and west on University Drive. Both routes can become slightly congested during morning and evening commute hours, increasing the commute time to about 35 or 40 minutes.
You can eliminate the stress of driving and hefty on-campus parking fees by choosing to commute on the local Valley Metro transportation system. The region’s convenient light rail system extends to the Mesa Drive/Main Street station, three-and-a-half miles from the apartments. You can ride your bike to the station in about 20 minutes or drive there within 10 minutes. Trains take you to two stops near campus in 22 to 25 minutes.
You can also travel to the university using Valley Metro’s bus system. Begin by walking a block to the westbound stop for Bus Route 61 at Southern Avenue and Rose. After a 31-minute bus ride, you’ll transfer to a free neighborhood Orbit Mars shuttle that takes you to four different university-area stops. The entire trip takes a little more than an hour.
