Commuting to ASU from The Montana Apartment Homes is a quick 16 minutes in light traffic. The commute time increases to as much as 30 minutes during peak rush hours. Driving east along Baseline Road and north to the university on Mill Avenue is the most direct route to campus. Mill Avenue leads you to a variety of buildings on the west side of campus, including Gammage Memorial Auditorium, the Music Building and the College of Design.
Less than seven miles from campus, the apartments also make cycling to the university a viable option. The trip generally takes 35 minutes, traveling east on Baseline, north on South 40th, east on Southern and north on Priest. If you’re heading for buildings on the south side of campus, cut over to campus using 13th Street; if you’re heading to the center of campus, cut over using University Drive. For northern campus locations, head east on 5th Street.
The region’s Valley Metro transit system is another convenient way to reach campus in about 30 minutes. The easiest commute uses eastbound Route 30 buses, accessed at the 32nd and Baseline Road bus stop. The bus stop is a 12-minute walk from the apartments. The bus ride lasts 24 minutes and offers several convenient ASU stops along University Drive. The first ASU stop is between Mill and Myrtle avenues near Parking Lot 20. The second is near the College of Design building, and the third is near Wrigley Hall and Fulton Center. There’s also a stop near the Chemistry and Biochemistry department.
The location of The Montana Apartment Homes is ideal for recreation lovers. Raven Golf Club is across the street from the apartments, and South Mountain Park is behind the complex. There are numerous stores, services and eateries near the apartments, too, including Desert Federal Credit Union and Filiberto’s Mexican Food. Five blocks to the west, you’ll also find Walmart, Target, Fry’s Food, South Mountain Community College, LA Fitness, Ross Dress for Less, Panda Express, Starbuck’s, Applebee’s, IHOP and Chipotle.
