The Park in Tempe
Located less than two miles from the southern tip of the Arizona State University Tempe campus and directly on a main road that travels through the campus, The Park in Tempe will keep you close to campus without limiting your options for outdoor exploration, entertainment, dining and fun after dark. The complex is located on South Rural Road, which runs north and south through campus.
To reach ASU, travel north on Rural Road, turning off when you reach the quadrant of campus that contains your destination. It takes approximately five minutes to reach Apache Boulevard at the southern tip of campus by car, and you will need a few more minutes to drive further north to University Drive or East Rio Salado Parkway.
If you continue on Rural north of Rio Salado, the road name changes to Scottsdale Road. You can take Scottsdale over the Salt River to visit the Rio Salado Park and the local marina. Venturing further to the northwest will take you to a series of parks and golf courses as well as the Phoenix Zoo. On the ASU side of the river, you can explore Tempe Beach Park and the Tempe Center for the Arts if you travel west on Rio Salado Parkway.
Transportation
Your personal car and the Valley Metro public busing system are the preferred methods of travel for The Park residents. The closest bus stop is near the intersection of Rural Road and Southern Avenue, and it only takes a minute to walk there from the apartment complex. Take bus route 72 named Scottsdale/Rural South, and exit the bus when you reach the closest stop to your campus destination. This bus route continues north of campus and beyond the river, so it will get you close to most locations on campus.
