Five blocks from the Piestewa Freeway, The Prescott on Thomas apartments are convenient to most major area locations. The apartments are also close to Interstate 10, Loop 202 and Interstate 17. Using the Piestewa Freeway and Loop 202, you can drive the 10 miles to ASU’s Tempe campus in 12 minutes.
While driving to ASU is convenient, parking on campus can cost hundreds of dollars each year. If you’re looking for a more cost-efficient commute, the region’s Valley Metro public transit system is a good bet. You’ll have several options, including a combination bus/light rail train route that delivers you to campus in 35 minutes. To access this route, walk half a block to the southbound Route 12 bus stop at Thomas and 16th Street. Ride the Route 12 bus 13 minutes, then hop on a light rail train at 12th and Jefferson streets. It’s a 21-minute train ride to the Veteran’s Way and College Avenue light rail station near northwest ASU sites like Sun Devil Stadium. If you need to reach more central areas of campus, stay on the train another two or three minutes to the University Drive and Rural Road light rail station.
Bicycling to campus is also a good alternative to driving your car. The bike ride takes about 48 minutes and involves a few elevation changes. The route with more gradual ascents travels along the Grand Canal Trail and Washington Street to Rio Salado Parkway.

Apartments at The Prescott on Thomas are just a block down the street from Phoenix Children’s Hospital and Abrazo Arizona Heart Hospital. Directly to the west of the apartments, you’ll find many restaurants and shops, including Subway, Burger King and Magic Dollar Discount Store. Walgreen’s, AM/PM, Pizza Hut and Juan’s Authentic Mexican Food are a block farther. Several grocery stores are convenient to the apartments, too, including Sunshine Market, Fry’s Food and Drug and Food City.
